What is needed at the employee
desktop to run the 24x7 Help Desk Portal?
The ability to browse the Web. Any
PC, Macintosh or Unix workstation that has a connection to the
Internet and a Web browser can access the 24x7 Help Desk Portal.
E-mail client is recommended to receive notifications.
Does any software need to be
installed on the users' computers?
Other than a Web browser, no.
What kind of server is needed
to run 24x7 Help Desk Portal?
24x7 Help Desk Portal runs on our
servers, so you don't need any additional server capacity, and you
don't need to involve your IT people with software installation,
server configuration, license management, etc. You don't buy the
help desk from us. You pay us a monthly fee to use the program.
Will 24x7 Help Desk Portal
work through a firewall?
Yes.
How about remote users who use
a dialup modem to get to the Web? Is a dialup connection fast
enough?
Yes, 24x7 Help Desk Portal is
designed to work well over any kind of connection. The system is
fast and straightforward, and uses a minimum of graphic images.
How much training will our
employees need?
Very little training is needed,
since we use a Web-browser interface. If they know how to browse the
Web, they can submit problems to the Help Desk
Can we make 24x7 Help Desk
Portal look like an internal company application, with our company
name and logo appearing on every page?
Yes, we can run a separate
application just for your company and personalize the Help desk to
fit your company design and look.
Can we use our domain name?
Yes, you we can apply for your
domain name and host it on our servers. If you already own a domain
it can be transferred to our servers or we can help installing the
software on your server (see “At your location” from our Home Page)
How do we set up our users in
the 24x7 Help Desk Portal? We'll need to enter names, user IDs, and
passwords, won't we?
You can enter them manually
through the Web interface, or you can send them to us in a file and
we can import them directly into the Help Desk. We can handle a
variety of formats, including Excel, Access, and delimited text. If
we run a separate application for you, we can also assign one or
more of your employees to be system administrators, who can then
maintain your list of users directly. Users can self-register as
well.
How much does this cost?
We offer our services based on
your need, personalization, customer size and required support.
Using our portal for up to 100 customers/employees starts at a low
$299/month. Hosting services included!
24x7 Help Desk Portal seems to
be targeted towards Computer Support and Information Technology
problems. Can it be used for other purposes as well?
Certainly, the software can track
issues related to customer service, Human Resources, manufacturing,
internal support and many other applications.
Is there a demo version
available?
Yes, we have an online demo
available. If you click “Contact” and complete the form, we'll send
you instructions for running the demo, along with User IDs and
Passwords to use. The instructions are sent within 24 hours (soon
immediately).
